Reports, troubleshooting, and support
Argus provides separate reports for scan findings and recent network activity. Choose the one relevant to your problem, and review it before sharing.
Export a scan summary
- Open Logs from the navigation bar or dashboard menu.
- Select Export Model Scan Summary.
- If Android asks where to save the PDF, choose a location and confirm.
- Wait for the export to finish. An export-started message is not completion.
- Open the finished PDF from the completion banner, Downloaded logs, or your chosen file location.
The summary uses available account scan records and needs access to those records. It is not a new scan or a guarantee that every event on the phone is included.
If you see No logs found, confirm the signed-in account and whether a scan has completed and its result is available. If you see Failed to fetch logs, check the internet connection and retry.
If the PDF export fails, check available storage, the selected location, and whether you cancelled the file picker.
Export network logs
- Reproduce the connection issue using only a trusted app or website.
- Open Logs > Export 15-Min Network Logs soon afterward.
- Wait for the export confirmation.
- Open the text file from Downloaded logs or your phone's Downloads location.
The file describes available recent network records, not the entire history of the phone. If protection was stopped, no relevant traffic was captured, or the event is outside the recent window, it may not contain the evidence you need.
You can open a compatible network-log text file in the map. A PDF scan summary cannot be used for this.
Find exported files
Open menu > Downloaded logs, or use Downloaded Logs inside the navigation bar's Logs popup where shown.
If the report is not listed, check the location you selected in Android's file picker or your phone's file manager. A PDF may require a PDF viewer to open.
Keep the original report unchanged if you need it for investigation. Make a separate copy when removing personal information for sharing.
Gmail diagnostics
For a Gmail-specific problem, open Gmail Protection and use its diagnostics share control if support requests it. Android will ask you to choose a sharing destination.
Review the file and recipient before completing the share. A diagnostic export is different from a scan-summary PDF or a recent network log.
Clear history
Do not clear history as a first troubleshooting step — it removes evidence that support may need to help you.
Use Logs > Clear Telemetry History only when you intend to remove the supported security-history records.
- Save any records you still need.
- Read the confirmation.
- Confirm deletion only if you want to proceed; otherwise cancel.
- Wait for the success message.
Clearing history is not a routine first step for troubleshooting. It can remove evidence useful to support and reset recent views. It does not uninstall a threat, delete your account, remove exported files, or serve as a command to delete all Gmail and family data.
Do not confuse Reset Server Telemetry on the dashboard with malware removal or account deletion. If you are reporting a problem, preserve the relevant status information first.
Start troubleshooting here
| Problem | First checks |
|---|---|
| App will not sign in | Check the connection, account, sign-in method, and email verification. Account guide. |
| Background protection stops | Check Usage access, battery restrictions, and the monitoring switch. Background guide. |
| Internet stops or another VPN disconnects | Check the active VPN, network rules, and any family policy. Network guide. |
| Scan does not finish | Check connectivity, file access, and whether another scan is running. Scanning guide. |
| Gmail checks or spam actions fail | Check Gmail authorisation, connectivity, and background operation. Gmail guide. |
| Family status is old | Check the affected device's account, connection, and Last shared time. Family guide. |
| Page looks empty or incomplete | Check filters, whether you opened a historical file, and whether data has loaded. Avoid clearing history as the first fix. |
| App repeatedly closes | Reopen it, restart the phone if needed, and check for an app update through the source you normally use. Record what action causes the closure. |
Avoid clearing app storage or reinstalling as the first troubleshooting step: local settings and findings can be lost. If a reinstall is needed, first confirm you can sign in again and preserve useful reports. Afterward, recheck permissions, protection, and family membership.
Contact support
Use Help > Report an issue in Argus or the Argus Sentinel contact page.
Include:
- What you were trying to do and what happened instead.
- The exact visible error or warning.
- Date and time of the issue, including your time zone.
- Phone model, Android version, and Argus app version. Android's app-info screen may show the app version.
- Whether you were using Wi-Fi or mobile data, another VPN, or a managed work profile.
- The steps that reproduce the problem and the checks you already tried.
- A relevant screenshot or report, with unnecessary personal information removed, if the support channel accepts it.
For a false positive, include the app's name, version if available, source, and the finding. For family sync, include the last-update time and the action that failed.
If the contact form does not accept files, describe the issue first and ask support how to provide the report. Do not assume an attachment was uploaded.
Never send passwords, verification codes, password-reset links, access credentials, or family pairing QR codes. Do not post diagnostic reports publicly.
